The team work on: (1) Process Reengineering: New business launches helping Business team and Project managers to ensure processes are in place to be functional from Day 1, (2) Problem Solving: Monitor Dashboard and perform Root Cause analysis, design and implement Solutions, (3) Reduce upstream defects, and (4) Improve Cash: Identify ways to improve working capital and operating margins.
Businesses Covered: Amazon Web Services (AWS), Advertising, Kindle / Alexa Devices Offline, Gift Cards / Consumer Payments, and Digital Content businesses, primarily for Japan and as subject matter expert for APAC region.
The Role: The person on the role is directly responsible for creating FinOps reporting, guidance on processes, and tools that measure the health of the AR processes for business including Advertising and Kindle / Alexa Devices Offline. This position identifies the leading defects that in turn become both the operational goals and improvement initiatives executed on by Services and BP. Using this data, the person also drives standardization and improvements to operational processes across AP, AR, and other FinOps work streams that support Advertising AR and Kindle / Alexa AR through data and process knowledge.
Diving deep into data, systems and process, the person works directly with Senior managers and Directors of Advertising, and Alexa businesses, and FinOps teams to bridge business requirements to existing system capabilities, and to identify improvements to current-state of operations, thereby ensuring both business requirements are met and defects are not introduced into FinOps processes. This includes challenging business requirements for complex use cases (global automation initiatives, new product launches and contracts by business teams) and working creatively to find alternative methods to support new programs or launches without dramatically impacting the scalability of the AR and Digital AP process, either through HC growth or manual inputs.
Finally, the person leads deep dives for businesses to better understand payment defects unique to their own process, identifying root causes and creating checks, controls, and metrics used to measure the success of implemented improvements. This cross-functional work (including FinOps, Accounting, Business, and Business Finance teams) requires strong communication and influencing skills, writing skills to present review documents to Senior leadership, and leading direct improvement of KPI’s, as well as the overall customer experience.
1. The person responsible for this role will work closely with Business Sales and Sales Ops team to discuss and sync with upstream system defects, identify root cause and provide solutions.
2. Should be a self-starter working cross functionally like Accounting, Tax, FinOps Service Centers, and Business Partner teams.
3. Identify working with business team opportunities to improve Cash flow and margins for respective business teams.
4. Leverage fact, data and deep process knowledge to work directly with business and FinOps to bridge business requirements and to identify improvements to current-state operations.
5. Work creatively to find alternative methods to support new programs or launches without dramatically impacting the scalability of AR and AP process, either through headcount growth or manual inputs.
