Search Client Services Engineer is responsible for the launch of new Amazon marketplaces, categories and features by configuring the underlying search service and by providing technical consultation to the developers. In addition, you’ll troubleshoot search related problems, investigate systemic issues, analyze usage of search system and develop self-service/automation tools in support of our search service. You’ll share technical knowledge, provide thoughtful documentation, develop and maintain tools and systems owned by the team, and build your ability to translate business needs into technical specifications. A strong partnership and collaboration with the architects, the builders, and the tenants of the system will be required in order to succeed in this role.
At least 3 years of Software Development and/or related experience
Solid experience with Linux or other Unix-based operating systems.
Excellent knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Perl, Shell, etc.) to solve real-life problems.
Proven experience with large data sets/feeds: manipulating, parsing, and normalizing large data.
Working experience with software development life-cycle, source code control and release management processes and tools.
Bachelor's or higher degree in a technical field or equivalent professional experience.
Excellent written and verbal English language skills.
Excellent communication skills with broader audiences.
Strong desire to work in search and eCommerce area. Prior experience with search engine configuration, troubleshooting and optimization is a big plus.
Excellent technical troubleshooting/problem solving skills in a large complex systems owned by multiple teams.
Familiarity with issue tracking, and project management applications (Jira, Redmine, etc.), monitoring systems and reporting tools.
Ability to translate business requirements into a functional design.
A strong sense of ownership and desire to provide superior customer experience.
Ability to design and implement process improvement, automation and continued enhancements from data-driven approach.
Experience working across organizations and with remote teams.
Good understanding of Project Management principles.
