JP Amazon Prime Video is seeking a Strategic and Business Analysis Manager to help us drive the continuous success of Prime Video by diving deep into major business questions that arise and identify growth opportunities for Prime Video in Japan. Since its launch in 2016, Amazon Video JP has seen explosive user growth driven by integration with the highly successful Amazon Prime subscription program and 3P devices. As the Deep Dive Manager, you will act as an internal task force to the Prime Video team by leading cross-functional teams to solve business needs via the use of analysis and insights.

    We are looking for someone who enjoys making big impacts on the business by solving big business needs. This candidate will work on strategic, cross-functional projects that are needle-movers for the business. Not only is the analysis and dive deep required, but clear recommendations and proposed action plans are expected as outputs of each project. This role will be using information and data not only from Prime Video and the full Amazon business, but also external market data and research (both existing and new), as well as any other key sources of relevant information.

    You should have superb analytical, technical, business and communication skills to be able to work with business and technology leaders to define and prioritize key business. . The successful candidate will be a proven analytics leader who is comfortable with ambiguity, demonstrates strong attention to detail, is a self-starter, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

    • Partner with senior business and technology leaders to develop data-driven business strategy
    • Deliver insights to help shape strategy across a wide spectrum of business and technology areas, including: customer acquisition, customer lifecycle, mobile application features, and video programming.
    • Participate in research and development of foundational business enablers
    • Be a key part of building the short / medium / long-term Prime Video strategy
    • Provide guidance and thought-leadership on analytical best practices to team members and business partners
    • Translate analytic insights into concrete, actionable recommendations for business or product improvement

    Basic Qualifications

    • MS degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, Data Mining, or other quantitative field
    • 10+ years of experience in a business or analytical role
    • Deep experience developing successful analytics-based solutions to business problems
    • Proven track record of solving ambiguous and highly complex business problems
    • Exceptional critical thinking and attention to detail
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Must be able to explain technical concepts and analysis implications clearly to a wide and senior audience, and be able to translate business objectives into actionable

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experienced online/digital marketer
    • Proficiency using SQL to query large relational databases and ability to build and maintain processes to extract & integrate data from various sources
    • Fully fluent in spoken and written Japanese and English
    • Demonstrated ability to work with global technology and business teams
