    Amazon has developed a number of innovative and fast-growing digital and mobile businesses including Amazon Echo, Kindle, Fire tablet, Fire TV, Prime music, Amazon Instant Video and Prime video, Amazon Mobile shopping, and the Amazon App store.

    The ideal candidate is passionate about emerging technolody, has strong marketing, product, and program management experience, with deep customer instincts and an ability to influence diverse teams globally. S/he will balance creativity with analytics and agility with operational discipline and possess experience with data driven online direct marketing (traffic and session control, conversion rate, customer behaviors, digital industry, internal resources & processes, etc.), strong analytical skills and be comfortable diving deep into the data, and deep insights into needs of customers and business. This role is inherently cross-functional – required to work closely with key stakeholders worldwide, as well as consumer marketing and other digital category teams in Japan. Required to manage team with site merchandisers and visual designers to analyze/seek opportunities and purpose, lead, execute projects, and deliver results toward business goals.

    As Senior Manager, Online Marketing you are responsible to drive all copywriting and localization for the Japanese audience and will be seen as the Amazon device's voice for Japan. Further, you will plan and develop the merchandising calendar for Amazon device sales, execute the plan, report and review the results with takeaway for next actions. These include e-mail programs, new product launches, cross-category placements, and participation in Amazon site-wide events. Additionally, you will be responsible for free and paid traffic optimization and coordinating with our cross-site partners on company wide initiatives and gateway management. The above will naturally require you to compile and analyze traffic and other web metrics, and report on performance to our leadership team.

    This position reports to the Head of Online Marketing, Amazon devices Japan.

    Basic Qualifications

    • 5+ years e-Commerce marketing experience.
    • Proven background developing and executing on social marketing strategies resulting in strong conversion rates
    • Proven experience devoloping and managing a team of online marketers
    • Strong writing skills in both Japanese and English
    • Ability to think and act both strategically and tactically.
    • Experiences of designing and executing online customer experiences.
    • Strong communication skills: experience in coordinating teams and communicating to senior management.
    • Background leveraging Agile methodologies successfully in a marketing organization
    • Strong bias for action, ability to prioritize and attention to detail.
    • Ability to use hard data and metrics to back up feature and customer segment recommendations.
    • An understanding of, and passion for media and digital technology.
    • Aptitude for organization, flexibility and producing results in a fast paced environment.
    • Strong technical ability and aptitude to learn in-house tools rapidly.
    • Native Japanese, fluency in English

We are seeking someone with demonstrated history of successful project ownership and using customer data to identify and prioritize opportunities.
