    Amazon is seeking a bright, motivated, and hardworking Studio Equipment Manager for our Shinagawa Apparel Studio. The ideal candidate should possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail and an ability to meet deadlines.

    備品管理・購買・メンテナンス・セットの設営や新機材のテストなど責任範囲は多岐にわたります。
    コマーシャルフォトスタジオやフォトプロダクションでスタジオマネージャーや機材担当責任者を務めていらした方、フォトグラファーやチーフアシスタント経験者などが有力な候補者になりえるでしょう。
    日常会話程度の英語の語学力とハードウェア・ソフトウェア含めPCの基本的な知識は必要です。
    Daily responsibilities will include:


    • Maintenance and tracking of all photography equipment including cameras, lenses, lights, packs, stands, modifiers, grips

    • Rapidly responding to equipment requests in the editorial and product bays.

    • Meticulously maintain a spotless world-class equipment room. Clean equipment and digital sensors

    • Maintain par level of spare systems and parts to ensure maximum productivity in each bay and potential additional bays during peak.
    • Maintain equipment in good working order and send out equipment for repair as needed.

    • Partner with Lead Digital Technician and Studio Manager to scope out and procure new capture systems.

    • Assist IT and Lead Digital Technician to update capture stations with new software

    • Develop and implement an asset management system to track equipment within the studio or that needs to be sent out for service

    • Coordinating with photographers and other Digitechs to identify existing process bottlenecks and rapidly deploying scalable improvements

    • Coordinating with software development team to implement continual system innovations

    • Staying current with updates to imaging technology and computing platforms

    • Consistently meeting production goals, standards, and deadlines

    • Identifying and providing ideas for safety improvement

    • Maintaining regular attendance and punctuality

    • Adhering to strict, safety, quality, and production standards
    • Cover photographers on set when needed.
    • Manage bay lighting changes when requested.
    • Develop relationship with external vendors for equipment purchases, rentals, and repairs.
    • Manage rental requests, pickups, and returns as needed.
    • Manage international shipping requests from other studios who request surplus equipment.
    • Practice frugality in regards to equipment purchases.
    • Coordinate with Procurement for relevant purchase requests.
    • Coordinate with Creative Director on yearly Cap-Ex budget for equipment purchases, repairs, and rentals.
    • Daily maintain bay readiness to ensure all bays are tidy and have all the necessary equipment for the day.

    Basic Qualifications

    • Conversational Japanese language proficiency
    • Bachelor's degree in Photography or related field
    • Minimum of 2 years experience as a digital technician or equipment room specialist in a commercial photography studio
    • Fluency with Capture One, Photoshop, Premiere, Bridge, Lightroom, and FTP clients
    • Excellent working knowledge of photographic lighting and equipment, particularly Profoto, Kino and Canon SLR systems.
    • Working knowledge of portable electric systems, (lunchboxes, dimmers, distro boxes etc)
    • Basic to intermediate skills in Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook
    • Understanding of color management policies and best practices
    • Demonstrable ability to easily move between Mac and PC platforms
    • Must have a strong working knowledge of a Commercial Photo Studio
    • Be able to Stand and/or walk during shifts between 8 to 12 hours long
    • Lift, bend, reach above the head, kneel, crouch and/or stretch during shifts between 8 to 12 hours long
    • Lift and move up to 49lbs
    • Push and pull product up to 49lbs during shift between 8 to 12 hours long
    • Engage in full dexterity with both hands and wrists

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Have the ability to speak, write, and read English fluently
    • Master's Degree in Photography or related field
    • Proven ability to work successfully without supervision
    • Self-driven and able to easily communicate creative ideas and collaborate in a team environment
    • An interest in continuous process improvement
    • Excellent written and oral communication
    • The ability to excel and thrive in a photo studio environment that handles very high volumes
