Jeff Bezos’ 2015 letter to shareholders called out Prime as one of Amazon’s three big offerings. Amazon launched Prime in 2005 in the US, and 2007 in Japan. Prime started with delivery benefits, and added digital benefits such as Prime Video and Prime Music. Today, Prime has become an all-you-can-eat, physical-digital hybrid that members love. We want Prime to offer such a good value, you’d be irresponsible not to be a member.
The Senior Product Manager, Prime Benefits will be a pivotal leader in developing the product strategy to enhance Prime's value proposition for JP customers. Some of the questions that this role will be expected to answer are: What new benefits do we add to help solve our customer's most important needs? How should our existing benefits evolve and improve to continue providing disproportionate value to customers? What customer segments are we not serving well today and what can we do to address them? How does our offering match up against alternatives?
The ideal candidate will start with our customers and work backwards to conceptualize and bring to life innovative benefits and features to provide disproportionate value to our customers. He/she is comfortable in dealing with ambiguity, analyzes data deeply where available and influences and advises senior leaders across multiple business units to take actions with significant downstream implications for the JP consumer business. Key responsibilities of this role are: · Leverage existing mechanisms and build new ones to start with customers and innovate customer-facing features for Prime, driving conceptualization and working out requirements. · Add new product features working closely with internal partners, such as digital teams, product categories, and seller services. · Manage projects and drive execution in collaboration with Worldwide Prime Product and technology teams. · Share and learn worldwide best practices, to mutually help among worldwide Prime teams and achieve goals.
The role will require close collaboration with the following teams: - JP and Global DEX teams - Seller Services - JP Points - Category Teams - Digital Benefits (Video, Music, etc) - WW Prime Product and Tech teams
