Job Description

Amazon is poised to significantly grow its JPN Fashion business. We are looking for an executive with deep online marketing and messaging experience, ideally in apparel, to wholly rethink the strategy and process by which we communicate with our customer in this category. The role is complex and will require vision, considerable drive and the ability to quickly adapt as we learn and grow.

Job Description

Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership in the development of the brand positioning overall and by each key customer segment for the Amazon Fashion Store. Partner with the creative team to determine the optimal look, feel and editorial voice. Oversee the consistent application of that brand positioning and messaging across all media.
  • Build a world class marketing team, overseeing the product management, marketing strategy, site merchandising and creative functions.
  • Drive the development of annual and seasonal messaging and marketing strategies to effectively create awareness and incent trial as we develop the new Store, using both online and offline marketing vehicles.
  • Develop and oversee the execution of integrated seasonal strategies across multiple marketing channels to achieve seasonal business and brand objectives.
  • Manage external and internal resources to deliver a truly differentiated great customer experience and provide authoritative, compelling content.
  • Partner with the PR team and outside agency to drive effective PR efforts on behalf of Apparel.
  • Create and drive a customer acquisition and retention plan including strategies to test and learn optimal ways to drive qualified traffic and increase customer lifetime value.
  • Work closely with the Traffic team to establish testing and learning objectives for Apparel and partner to execute plans..
  • Oversee the compilation and analysis of performance metrics and drive to continually optimize spend and understand relative ROI of each channel and/or tactic.
  • Work closely with the retail and third-party account teams to optimize promotional efforts and present a clear and unified message to the customer.
  • Lead Amazon Fashion Week Tokyo and the At Tokyo program execution with our internal partners and external vendors/brands

Basic Qualifications

The successful candidate must be able to think and act both strategically and tactically to flawlessly deliver a world-class customer experience, insightful marketing strategies and high performing campaigns. He/she should be innovative, leadership and team oriented and an effective communicator. He/she should be a “builder”, with demonstrated ability to excel in a fast-paced, start-up environment.. A passion for apparel and developing online customer-centric experiences is highly desired.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:
  • 15+ years of offline and/or online marketing experience in a brand-driven retail environment, preferably in the Apparel industry.
  • Proven success managing cross-functional teams to accomplish aggressive goals
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong bias for action and ability to prioritize
  • BA/BS required

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA preferred
  • Any apparel or fashion industry experience would be a plus
