This is a technical support role (NOT call center) who should be an expert in various IT areas and provide timely and professional troubleshooting advice and architectural best practice to AWS customers via support cases.
We are seeking people with strong technical skills: Experience with Big Data and/or Database (MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle)? Do you know the advantages of working in a highly distributed virtual environment? Since we’re working in the Cloud, you will need to be very comfortable with networking technologies including DNS, TCP/IP, SSL, DHCP and Load Balancing. Bachelor’s degree in Information Science / Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field
or relevant years of experience in a technical position
Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Mandarin Chinese
Open to dedicating to Mandarin Chinese support
Open to working non-standard hours (no night shifts) including a Sun-Mon or Fri-Sat weekend.
Strong Linux system administrator skills
Excellent knowledge of Hadoop architecture and administration and support
Proficient in Map-Reduce, HDFS, Spark, Hive, Hbase.
Expert understanding of ETL principles and how to apply them within Hadoop
Be able to read java code, and basic coding/scripting ability in Java, Perl, Ruby, C#, and/or PHP
Experienced with linux system monitoring and analysis
Good understanding of distributed computing environments
Technology-related Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Customer service experience / strong customer focus
Strong multi-tasking skills
Strong analysis and troubleshooting skills and experience
Self-starter who is excited about learning new technology
Networking (DNS, TCP/IP)
Prior working experience with AWS - any or all of EC2, S3, EBS, ELB, RDS, Dynamo DB, EMR
