Based from our Japan head office in Tokyo, we are looking for a pro-active, experienced, passionate and customer-obsessed Senior Technical Program Manager who will work for setting up next generation of last mile platform that innovate the delivery experience.

Role Overview
As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you will have the exciting opportunity to work on one of Amazon’s most ambitious and complex efforts. You will lead the implementation of technical platform for last mile delivery operations, with deep understanding of last mile operations and technical platform features that are available today and in future. You will work closely with the business, operations, and development teams to understand the business/operational requirement and identify the gap from the today’s platform, coordinate with international program/development team to fill the gap, and initiate/manage project to implement the incremental features with cross functional teams.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, with strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This role requires an individual with excellent communication with cross-functional teams who operates independently and works across functional boundaries.

Responsibilities:
· Collect business/operational requirements from operations/business team, conduct gap analysis between the requirement and technical platform features.
· Discuss and prioritize the business requirement with internal operations team, international program team and development team. Clarify the details of requirement by summarizing the requirement in detail.
· Initiate and manage the project as project manager for platform implementation and enhancement with cross functional teams including offshore development team. Report the detailed project status to senior leaders.
· Act as central point of contact for local operations/business team for any inquiries related to last mile platform. Educate operations team on how platform works.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent
1. Expertise defining standard SQL queries
2. 10+ years experiences in following 2 areas (in total, both areas are must):
  • Technical/system analytical work in operations area (3+ years)
  • Project management, [15+ members, 5+ teams, offshore development team management, IT related projects] (3+ years)
3. Strong oral and written communication skills in both English and Japanese, with a demonstrated ability to communicate and build consensus with various internal and external groups and senior leaders.
4. Strong tactical level operator; thrive on analytics and detailed investigation; able to coordinate workload.

Preferred Qualifications

1. MBA, MS or MA (Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, Mathematics or Equivalent)
2. 3+ year’s work experiences in Supply Chain/Logistics area
3. Ability to think and influence both quantitatively and qualitatively
4. Ability to think strategically, innovatively, and creatively using sound business judgment and quantitative skills.
5. Experience leading innovation and transformational change in large, technical organizations.
6. Proven record of operational excellence and defect reduction.
