Job Description

Amazon Music Japan is seeking an exceptionally talented Head of Engagement Marketing to manage and execute programs across various marketing channels, drive traffic generation, and manage web & device merchandising. This senior leadership position will manage a high performing team whose primary goal is to promote awareness, drive engagement and customer retention.

Success in this role requires a strong bias for action, and the ability to execute daily at the highest level. Having a strong analytical foundation is required. In addition to executing a variety of programs, the candidate will demonstrate strong and organized budget management skills and requires excellent leadership/management skills.

The ideal candidate has strong product vision with unparalleled customer instincts and an ability to influence diverse teams. Candidates should be both idea generators and builders, with a strong sense of accountability, and a keen focus on delivering great customer experiences and strong, measurable results. S/he should thrive in a culture of decisions based on analytics, be comfortable diving deep into the data, yet able to step-back and communicate both the strategic and immediate implications on priorities.

Day-to-day responsibilities will include:
  • Develop and lead a team of marketing managers including site merch and outbound marketing
  • Be responsible for driving traffic to the digital music websites and device apps through a mix of untargeted and targeted marketing channels
  • Create marketing and communication plans across multiple channels (e.g., email, on-site, social, push, direct mail) to maximize listener engagement with our service
  • Develop and execute customer retention and churn management strategies
  • Develop a clear customer segmentation and brand messaging strategy for Amazon Music
  • Drive customer engagement through targeted marketing and merchandising to convert existing Prime subscribers into active Prime Music customers, with increased listening frequency
  • Develop an organizational structure that aligns the talent to the strategic objectives for the group
  • Focus on talent management of the Marketing team which includes effectively hiring and developing the best talent, and creating an environment which motivates people to thrive in their expertise and deliver aggressive results
  • Manage the look and feel of the different digital music storefronts, including daily operation and strategic planning
  • Closely monitor customer feedback/needs through surveys and research
  • Liaise closely with the product development teams to drive innovation aimed at improving customer experience
  • Provide input to define the customer experience and customer satisfaction and represent that to senior executives as well as the digital music team
  • Overcome and solve complex obstacles that impact the digital music marketing & merchandising and product discovery, effectively escalate issues across all levels in the company
  • Drive sustainable process improvements across the functions which create year-over-year efficiency in the category
  • Identify new approaches for improving marketing & merchandising and category awareness to better manage the customer experience and the team over the long run



Basic Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in Marketing or a related field
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience in e-commerce, online merchandising, and consumer marketing/sales
  • Strong people manager with excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills; ability to work successfully with and influence stakeholders across all levels of management
  • Demonstrated history of success in data intensive quantitative analysis and ability to use metrics to back up assumptions/concepts
  • 大学学部卒

  • 定常的に書面(email他)、および口頭(会議、電話、TV会議)でのコミュニケーションを英語で行うことができる。
  • エクセルは中級(ピボットテーブル/グラフ、データ分析)以上のスキルがある。ワード、パワーポイントも中級程度のスキルがある。

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA in a related field
  • High-tech consumer marketing experience
  • Japanese language (speaking and writing) proficiency preferred but not required
